Therapy groups in St. Petersburg

Groups of six to eight people who meet weekly with a clinician. A group costs less than individual sessions and puts you with people facing something similar.

  • New parents: Thursdays, 10 to 11:30 am, six weeks, led by Yesenia Ochoa, LMHC. Babies are welcome.

Joining and privacy

Each group starts with a 20-minute call with its leader, so you can ask questions and both of you can check that the group fits. Self-pay is $60 a session; some insurance plans cover group therapy.

The first meeting sets the ground rules. The leader keeps what you say confidential, within the same legal limits as individual sessions. Every member agrees to keep what is said in the group private, but the law does not bind other members the way it binds the leader.

Questions about therapy groups

Do I have to talk in group?

No. Many people listen for the first few meetings. The leader never puts anyone on the spot.

Can I join a group and see an individual therapist too?

Yes. Many group members also see a clinician one on one, here or elsewhere.
